The Star of Angelo Mazzone’s Crown, 677 Prime. If you want to be treated like royalty and eat a spectacular meal, this is the spot. With Sam behind the bar it’s also the only place in town to have a real cocktail. Mary B. runs the place and she can hook you up with a dinner for two that will impress. She can also set you up to wine and dine 80 of your closest friends on the second level. Needless to say, I was thrilled when Mary begged Angelo to let me help set the mood.
This location hosts a few of my “Walter George 1935” tiles, but they were custom made in a gilded pewter finish for this location. I added 5 Killer lamps to the slick granite bar as well as all the Boat House pendants over the tables-for-two against the windows. The huge wine bottle painting, by MaryAnn Schmidt (yes that is a relation), also came from the Renaissance Showroom. If you ever have the pleasure of seeing the second floor for a private event, you will see the grand box mirror, crystal Luna Chandeliers, and the center reception table we procured for the location. The Congo media cabinet of mango wood in the boardroom and Zang room divider is also from RFD.
Looking forward to my next meal when an occasion worth celebrating needs to be planned…
Angelo, thank you for making something TRULY special in Albany.
