Hall of Springs Wedding // Sunset
In the beginning of March, I met with Jodi and her mom. I was very excited about the meeting because I had already booked October 7th and 8th at the Hall of Springs. If Jodi and Kirk were to sign on, it would give me three days in a row for the same location. I love working in every location, but when we have a big venue booked on multiple days, it gives me a chance to do things I normally don’t get to do. Of course, I can do anything!
But when we are set up right as we were Columbus Day weekend, I can save my clients many, many dollars. Jody wanted warm and romantic — rich warm sunset tones that created a melon glow. The flowers did the trick, but when I was able to offer LED lighting, pin spots, charivari chairs and a dance floor at a fraction of the normal cost … well, let’s just say … it was awesome!

The flowers we chose made her colors come to life. I love how the girls’ gowns blended with the feel and mood of the flowers. One of Jodi’s attendants said, “They look like candy” and they did. Now that fall is in full swing, you can see that even though we rarely have a red-orange-yellow palette, all the blossoms for the season read rich, romantic and warm.
Jodi and I did not see each other much during the planning process because of her busy work schedule. Using phones, texting and email, we got every detail just perfect.
Once I arrived at the Hall, everything was a blur of energy and motion. With three of our trucks parked in front of the Hall, our boys were hauling out a huge load from the wedding the night before into one truck as they were unloading the truck up front with Jodi’s and Kirk’s wedding design. I dropped all the beautiful linens on the tables and set the chargers for the head table. The crew at HOS were just arriving to start setting the tables … then my girl Donna rolled in and started bossing me around … as usual.
I finished my tasks and headed over to our other wedding at the Canfield Casino. After making sure everything was perfect there, I headed back to the Hall arriving just in time to see Niki and Seth taking pics of Jodi and her family.
As the sun was setting, Dave of CPRC and I positioned the lighting to get that melon glow
popping in all the right spots. Also, I was able to get a few pictures of the bride and show them the room. I love when I get to do that.
Jodi and Kirk, Congrats! Loved every second of it and I’m so happy I was a part of your day.
Special thanks to my boys @ CPRC, to the HOS crew (even Donna) and to Niki and Seth for being my friends, capturing my work and giving me a few tips … Love my Nikon Crew!!
